Project Summary

This project consisted of replacing existing structures spanning small water crossings with new bridge structures. The new bridge substructures consist of driven steel H-pile at the end bents and interior bents. All new superstructures consist of reinforced concrete bridge decks, 36″ pre-stressed concrete girders, vertical concrete barrier rails and approach slabs. T.A. Loving constructed a temporary detour structure at each bridge site, parallel to the existing structure. These temporary detours permitted access through the project, as no off-site detours were allowed. T.A. Loving performed all roadway, drainage, asphalt paving, guardrail and pavement stripping improvements in accordance with NCDOT standards.
