Project Summary
The Wendell Murphy Center and South End Zone project, completed in 2003, highlights T. A Loving Company’s history and reputation for exemplary work in both scheduling and budget adherence. The project was delivered in phases over the course of two years and one full football season:
- Installation of 5,800 permanent seats in the south end of Carter-Finley Stadium.
- The Murphy Center, which spans the entire width of the football field.
- Construction of three outdoor practice fields and new restroom facilities.
T. A. Loving completed each phase of the project utilizing the CMAR delivery method with the pre-construction and construction team working on components of phases simultaneously. For example, during the construction of the south end zone, T. A. Loving was also providing pre-construction services on the four-story, 105,000 square foot football operations center.
The Murphy Center project included a full sports medicine component, an expansive weight room, conference rooms, coaches’ offices, academic support, lounge, cafeteria, media/television broadcast rooms, and more
